Food Matters

Last week I was at the gym, doing a little cardio, watching a movie/documentary that I haven't seen in a few years.  The name of this documentary is called 'Food Matters'.  There are only a few movies that have really changed my perspective of how I live my life, and this is definitely one.  The film hits on so many different aspects of the health industry.  They talk about the importance of vitamins and minerals, how nutritional education is lacking in our medical schools (therefor a wealth of information is not reaching patients), how grass-fed/ organic is a huge difference, and most importantly it encourages the viewer to be an active participant in their health care options!  The documentary also goes into depth about the details behind the Gerson Therapy (a nutritional alternative to fighting cancer that has extremely high success rates).
My two favorite 'quotes' from the movie are 1) "You are your own best doctor"  All the information that is out there today, you can do all the research and find out about the latest nutritional information and treatments; and 2) "Doctors don't have to believe in vitamins, they aren't a religion."  If you go to a doctor and ask about supplementations and they say they 'don't believe' in the use of vitamins in minerals then you need to GET A NEW DOCTOR!  Scientific research has been done over the past few decades and shows the connection between supplements and better health.
Take an hour and half and sit down and watch this movie, I am positive that you will learn at least a handful of facts that you never knew before.  Food Matters also has a website: foodmatter.tv
